Sounds like you are relying on indexes regarding death of William.Have you obtained a copy of his actual death certificate? If not, why not try RAOGK (Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness) site. There is a volunteer listed for Parker Co, TX who will do vital record lookups.See who is listed as parents of the William Branson who died 1978 in Parker Co, TX.Keep in mind the free online TX Dth Idx only begins in 1964, so if your man died in 1947 he wouldn't be on that index, or on the SSDI (online) which begins about the same time period.

You could ask the volunteer to look for William Branson who died 1978 and the one who died 1947.Give full dates of death. This is a request for a lookup, not research.Names of parents, informants etc might give you some help to sort them out.
Also, remember, information on death certificates AND headstones is given by an informant, not the deceased. So, there can be errors in both.
I notice on the 1900 census William is shown born July 1892.Chances are that is more accurate as it probably was given by one of his parents. But, not always.LOL
And, the information on "Warnsie" Branson, is that from her actual death certificate?I have a feeling it is just from an index, too, or you would have her maidenname. There is a volunteer listed for Palo Pinto Co, TX, too.Remember death is recorded where one dies, and that isn't always where they lived or are buried. My gr grandfather lived and is buried in Orange Co, CA, but he died while on a trip to Oregon, so that's where is death is recorded.
Happy Hunting (^_^)
