1910 Census-Why Can't I Find Them? with Names

Hi Gloria--
I checked Heritage Quest and couldn't find them either. I even checked neighbors (George Spencer) to see if the name might not have been indexed or the name was so grossly misspelled that it was indexed under something bizarre. No luck.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. The census is FAR from perfect. In fact, it can be notoriously sloppy. The enumerator may have just skipped the house. It happens--A LOT. If you want to do everything in your power to make sure you haven't missed them, then you will have to go page by page thru Ellis Co from beginning to end and see if they appear under some other last name. And then you may need to look in some other place--were they on vacation? (That has actually happened to me!) That's a lot of work, and I would ask you--is it worth the energy? Is there something pivotal that you are looking for in the 1910 census? If not, I believe if I were you I would move on and use my energy to other tasks (and I have done so when some of my family were not in the census but should have been).
So-that's my two cents worth.
Happy Hunting!
Andrea
