Just a guess on my part for Margaret's birth. I was told she supposedly had a son by the Carter marriage.
But that is vague. The marriage date is correct.
My mother was the family historian. She had an amazing memory. She was the oldest child in her family and helped with all the children. So the older folks talked around her.
Her grandmother was Matilda. She was the closest to her. She always said Matilda was not a very happy person because she lost both parents.
In the mid 1970's when I began this genealogy venture with a Ber/Burwick cousin, my mother told us dates, places and all the names of several sides of the fmily. She was always on target with everything. If she told you a story you could count on it. All others interviewed told the same info she did and all Bible records and Census backed her up. But she is gone now. She had very little info on Matilda and even less on Margaret since she died about the time Matilda was 4 years old. What a mystery
