I didn't do much on the Kyle line, but I ran out of time this morning. I checked the Houston Co, TX GenWeb site, looks like the Kyle family was there fairly early on, so they generated a few records. Check out land and probate, who shows up as heirs? TX Confederate Pensions show Mary E. Kyle obtaining a widow's pension #39199, Houston Co, TX, husband William Polk Kyle. I would follow up on that one. She would need to prove she was married to the veteran William Polk Kyle and you never know what information will show up on the widow's application. Military records usually don't give anything helpful in the way of family, but on this site you will find a Civil War record for a William Kyle: http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ William Kyle, Confederate, Cavalry, 8th Reg Texas Cavalry (Terry's) (1st Rangers) (8th Rangers) Happy Hunting (^_^) Notify Administrator about this message?
