Ray,
I read the 2003 posting on the name Kucera. In the 1990s, a relative of mine had a professional researcher in the Czech Republic do a family tree on the Romportls of Oldris,
Bohemia - now the Czech Republic. Some of my ancestors
were also from Morovia, which was next to Bohemia. There is a large Romportl Family Tree on what use to be Family
Tree Maker website - I think it merged, but you can probably find the info. on Ancestry.com.The Family Tree is on Volumne #4, Family Tree #0634.It lists some people with the last name Kucera. My great-grandparents came to the U.S. around 1881.Another relative ran across the passenger information on Ancestry.com, Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s rec 1924The ship they sailed on was the S. S. Weser, and it's port of arrival was New York. The family name on the documents read Franz Ramportel. Many Romportls from Bohemia came
and settled in Texas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.My relatives lived in South Carolina, then settled permanently
in Georgia. The name Huckabee appeared in this family tree
#064 as well.
I was in contact with you many years ago about my husband's
side of the family, Moodys and Bennetts. You had pictures,
names, and dates for the Bennett Family, which was thrilling to find.I haven't done reseach in a long while,
but I'm trying to get back into it.I haven't been checking the message boards, but I did see this posting.
