A Texas stabbing? maybe in Milam County? Bryant & Spence

Looking for information on a Charles Henry Bryant (went by Henry) b abt 1888 in SC died 1956 in PA. He married Margaret "Maggie" Jane Spence b July 16, 1893 AL. His parents were listed in his obit as MR/MRS Samuel Bryant of SC, both of which I know nothing about or can find in Census.

Per family legend Henry stabbed a Mexican and "had" to move to PA. Maggie's parents lived in TX and were surrounded per census by Mexican nationalities that were listed as coal miners.

I cannot locate Henry or his family in the Census prior to 1920 when he was living in PA.

BRYANT, HENRY (1920 U.S. Census) 29th of January 1920
PENNSYLVANIA , ALLEGHENY, INDIANA
Age: 31, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: SC
Series: T625 Roll: 1513 Page: 241

Occupation: Machine user in coal mine, both parents born in SC
Wife Maggie age 25, born in Alabama, both parents born in Alabama
Children: Edward age 6 born in TX, Evelyn age 1/12 born in PA

Henry married Maggie Abt. 1912, there is a gap of 6 years between their first two children. Was he in prison? Does anyone know if there is a prison around Milam county? Or have access to newspapers of that time (1910-1920)?

Also Maggie's parents died? sometime between 1910 and the 1920 Census, in the 1920 Census the children I found were living with relatives in Alabama. Were they involved? They would of been relatively young. In 1920 Isaac would of been 54 years old and "Jane" would of been 44 years old.

Maggie's parents were Isaac Simpson Spence & Mary "Jane" Mullen Spence and had 9 children, the youngest being born in abt 1912.
