I'm looking for information on John Calvin Walker who was my Great_grandfather.John was born somewhere between 1839 and 1865 he changed his birth year and where he was born, he would say he was born in North Carolina at times and in Texas at others.John told his Children taht he lived in North Carolina as a Child. His father went to get lumber was on a wooden raft, the raft was found with the lumber and arrows in it but John's father was never seen again.John's Mother couldn't take care of the farm and her kids so she gave John and his brother(believed to be named Blunt but not certain)up for adoption.Later they were adopted by a plantation owner as indentured servants. The plantation owner ordered a black slave to tie their hands above them and beat them each night before they went to bed.John swore one day he would be old enough and he would kill the owner and the slave and according to John he did just that and burned the plantation to the ground.John and his brother ran because they didnt want to be arrested.John moved to Texas his brother we have no idea.John was married 2 times his first marriage I have no idea who it was to. His second Marriage was to Emma Smith in 1891.Their children were Linnie and Lillie Walker(twins), Henderson Walker, joel Walker, M D Walker,James C Walker. I know very little about my great-grandfather.I Know he left home for months at a time and have no idea why.He died in Angelina County Texas in 1927...... if anyone out there has any information Please contact me........... thanks
