SURNAMES: BISHOP/BULLOCK/NEWTON/WHITE/CLARK/PATTERSON

Dear Descendants:

Hope this fines you in good health and spirits. I wanted to thank you all for your past help in obtaining my families genealogy information. I hope you continue your generous help. It means a lot to me and other family members; that so many of you are willing to share what you have; THANKS!

My Dad has provided a lot of family information, but hope you can provide more. Since many of you are descendants, I would very much appreciate as much information as you can provide. If you know of someone that has; or if you have any pictures, certificates, old documents, etc. from the past, I would very much like to get a copy of them. Those resources would help my research and will also make the forthcoming FAMILY HISTORIES more interesting. Also, I am trying to contact other related family members around the country who are interested in sharing our family's history. I have been working with my Dad, Aunt Ruth, Cousins Bryan and Stacey, on updating the Family Histories. I will gladly send copies to anyone who responds, and provides additional information.

Last year my cousin Stacey, (I had not seen since she was 7 years old); contacted me, she was planning a FAMILY GET-TO-GATHER at her home. It was wonderful, saw relatives from near and far, that I had not seen in more than 25-30 years. She had a fantastic genealogy setup, with computers and internet connection. Stacey is planning another family get-to-gather this year. Tentatively it will be the weekend before the 4th of July, July 1st. She and her husband, Roger, did a get job putting everything together, they are really great people. I know that many of you may not be in for long trips and traveling is something you probably no longer like doing; but I would love to see you there. For those interested I will be happy to provide more details.

I also wanted to give you an update about my family history. I have been working on my BISHOP/BULLOCK, NEWTON/WHITE lines for 10 years now. My BISHOP FAMILY came from Scotland, through England in the late 1500s, settling in Virginia. My BULLOCK FAMILY I have had the most difficult time with and have only been able to research back to the early 1800s in Alabama. My NEWTON FAMILY came from England in the mid 1600s, settling in Virginia, and like my Bishops they were tobacco plantation owners; branching out to North and South Carolina and Georgia, before going on to Alabama and Mississippi. My WHITE FAMILY I have also been able to track back to North/South Carolina and Georgia late 1700s; and will probably get them back to England within a year or so. The Clark(s) and Patterson(s) I am just getting started on.

Please pass my contact information on to those interested in joining our FAMILY GET-TO-GATHER and sharing their stories of our families. Besides my e-mail and various genealogy message boards, I also monitor the following web sites:
