I'm not finding the name Dopplemayer on my recent records, such as TX Dth Idx, Soc Sec Dth Idx or telephone directory online site.

Looks like Meyer went early to Grayson Co, TX. In bio on Jake Extein in a book on history of Grayson Co, TX it says Jake born in NY and in 1883 joined his brother Ike who was associated with his father-in-law Meyer Dopplemayer in the merchantile business.

Bertha Dopplemayer, dau of Meyer, md Isaac Extein, and her cousin Eva Dopplemayer md Jake, brother of Isaac.

In 1900 Meyer and Rosalie, plus a single daughter, a widowed daughter, 4 gr children and a servant live at 610 S. Crockett, Sherman, Grayson Co, TX. They were married 47 yrs, she had 5 ch with 5 living and they both came to U.S. 1844, Meyer was Naturalized.

Sherman, TX city directory 1876-1877:

Dopplemayer, James, clerk, M.L. Dopplemayer, bds M. Dopplemayer
" Meyer, res, n w cor Mulberry & Crockett
" Moses L., dry goods, clothing, boots & shoes, w s N. Travis bet Houston & Pecan, bds M. Dopplemayer

West Hill Cemetery, Sherman:

Dopplemayer, Meyer, 24 Aug 1823 - 27 Jan 1910
" Rosalie, 10 Jul 1834 - 15 Jan 1904 - w/o Meyer
" Moses L., 1804 - 1937
" Amelia, 1859 - 1951

Some of the Exsteins also buried at West Hill.

1900 census Harrison Co, TX:

Doppelmayer[sic], Dan h, b Jul 1833, 66, M 33 yrs, b Ger, Ger, Ger
" Fannie, w, b Jun 1842, 57, M 33 yrs, 5 ch, 4 lvg, b NY, Ger, Ger
" Bertha, d, b Mch 1879, 51, sgle, b TX
" Florence, d, b Mch 1874, 26, sgle, b TX
Young, Forence, sis-in-law, b May 1849, 51, sgle, b NY, NY, NY

James and Bella, 2 children and his brother Moses L. are also on that census, but I see you posted info on them so assume you have that.

Marshall Hebrew Cemetery, Harrison Co, TX:

Dopplemayer, Bella Davis, 4 Mar 1868 - 10 Oct 1934 - w/o James
" James, 16 May 1857 - 27 Apr 1914
" Walter, 24 Sep 1891 - 18 Jun 1902 - s/o J & B

Note difference in spelling of surname in same cemetery.

Doppelmayer, Bertha, 1869 - 1955
" Daniel, 4 Jul 1834 - 27 Aug 1902 - born Bavaria Germany
1st president of the Moses Montefiore Congration
" Fannie, 11 Jun 1844 - 25 Nov 1900, born NY - w/o Daniel
" James, unk - 24 Jan 1883 - s/o D & F 15 yrs, 1 mth, 1 day

According to the bio submitted to the history of Grayson Co, TX, looks like the Exstein/Dopplemayer family was back and forth bewteen Syracuse, NY (that would be Onondaga Co.) I would look for earlier records in that county for your family.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
