You sent me a direct email and I prefer to respond on the forums. You never know who else may see the information and can add to it. You could miss out by emailing direct.
Here is your next request from the email:
Would you happen to have Census info on a Melseany Walling/Waulding? She
was married to a Stith L. Mays. Stith was born in AL 1859. They are both
buried in Greenwood Cemetary in Hopkins Co. Their son, James Fletcher Mays
b. 1892, married Winnie Mayflower and they had my grandfather Guy in 1919.
1920 census Hopkins Co, TX:
Mays, James F., h, 28, b TX, AL, TX
" Mayflower, w, 21, b TX, TX, NC
" Neoma, d, 2 5/12, b TX
" Guy, s, 1 0/12, b TX
1930 census Hopkins Co, TX:
Mays, F. James, h, 38, M @ 25 yrs of age, b TX, US, TX
" Mayflower, w, 31, M @ 1? yrs of age, b TX, TX, NC
" Naomi, d, 12, b TX
" Guy, s, 11, b TX
" Pauline, d, 9, b TX
" T___ Fae, d, 7, b TX
" Tommie Joe, d, 4 11/12, b TX
" Modina, d, 1 10/12, b TX
" Christina, d, 1 10/12, b TX (apparently twins)
Next door, I assume Sene is short for Melseany and this is mother of James:
Mays, Sene, hd, (female), 70, wid, b TX, US, US
[She lives alone and no occupation is shown.]
Since you know where Stith is buried, do you have a death date for him? If he died after 1903, you might be able to obtain a copy of his death certificate.
Happy Hunting (^_^)
