I have been trying this year to locate the background of my great grandfather, H. C. Reese, who probably came from Georgia to Texas after the Civil War. According to my mother, he had a brother called Maddie, who was a schoolteacher and married a woman named Belle. My best evidence is that they were two children of Prudence D. Rees, who married a William O. Rees March 15, 1851 in Columbia, GA.

I have found other evidence of both brothers (and other siblings): Maddie is apparently William Madison Rees(e), and my great grandfather is Henry Clay Reese. I have located other information about the children of Charles Wade. Please contact me via e-mail, and I will be glad to share all information that I have in hand. T. J. Reese - Buenos Aires, Argentina
