Odessa Chad Edward Campbell was born September 13, 1973, in Odessa to Prinny Ham and Tommy Campbell. God rescued Chad on May 7, 2005, in Santa Barbara, Calif.
Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
Chad attended school in Odessa and graduated from Permian High School in May 1992, where he was on the varsity tennis team. Chad had great athletic abilities and played many sports excelling in tennis. He toured the U.S.T.A. tournament circuit and achieved a state ranking, during his high school years. After graduation, Chad worked in sales for various companies until his death. His big heart and bright smile will be forever etched in our memories. His mother will always remember him as a most devoted and loving son to her. He will always and forever be a part of her. The love she had for her son knew no boundaries.
“You were a part of everything that I thought, and did, and felt. And when you were with me, I believed that anything was possible. Thank you, Chad, for the love you brought me, and taught me and thank you for the miracle of you….You are, and always will be the love of my life.”
“(Psalms 18: 16-19) He reached down from Heaven and rescued me; He drew me drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong for me. They attacked me at a moment when I was in distress, but the Lord supported me. He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because He delights in me.”
Chad was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Thelma “Nana” Barham of Odessa; paternal grandparents, Doris and Paul Campbell; and maternal grandmother, Rosemary Parks.
His survivors include his parents, Prinny and Doug Ham of Odessa, and Tom and Nancy Campbell of Midland; stepbrothers, Josh Ham and wife, Diane, and Justin Ham and wife, Jill, both of Midland; sister, Anna Campbell of Midland; aunts and uncles, Gina Farrell of Odessa, Les Ming of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Andy Campbell and Pat Campbell, both of Odessa; numerous cousins; his best friend, Mark Harcrow of Dallas; and his best dog-pal, “Reese.”
