If you've lost all your data, I suggest you go to the Rootsweb World Connect site. Several people seem to be working on Joel. I typed in Joel Whitfield, born 1750, plus or minus 5 years, just in case. I didn't follow the lines down to see if one of them has your branch, but it is a place for you start.

I typed in name Dick Whitfield, and died in Texas, you didn't give any dates on him. Up comes more then one entry for William W. "Dick" Whitfield, born Tishomingo Co, MS, died Upshur Co, TX. Or, try Whitfield, born Mississippi and died Texas, several entries, some not yours come up, but several who show "Dick" as just William W. Whitfield without the "Dick" are now included, too. Same dates, and counties, so must be same man. So, you can start from either end.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
