Looks as if Fannie had four siblings.

1900 census Kaufman Co, TX. page 319:

Thompson, Samuel M., hd, b Aug 1845, 54, M 23 yrs, b MS, MS TN, TN
" Dovie, w, b Jul 1846, 53, M 23 yrs, 5 ch, 5 lvg, b AL, AL, VA
" (Theodoria ?), d, b Jun 1883, 16, b TX
" Walter, s, b Apr 1887, 13, b TX
" Floyd, s, b Feb 1890, 10, b TX
[Note, birth location for father of Samuel is written MS and TN, as if they weren't sure in which state he was born]

On page 313 is James D., 44, b MS, with wife and children and next door to him is J.S., 46, b MS, TN, TN. [cannot read birth location for parents of James D.]

On page 304 is J.L., 30, b MS, AL, TN [Note all these Thompson men show birth location for mother as TN, maybe they are brothers and father died when they were young enough they don't remember for sure where he was born???]

1910 census Kaufman Co, TX:

Thompson, Sam, boarder with the Edwards family, he is 64, widowed, b TN, TN, TN occupation is peddler, (chicken ?) wagon.

Since you know where Samuel is buried do you have his death date? You can obtain a copy of his death certificate and it should show the names of his parents, if the informant had that knowledge. Have you checked for his obiturary? You just never know what little tidbits will show up in obits.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
