The Census are not released to the public for
72 years which Congress determined was a fair
number of years to represent the lifetime of
a person and protect their privacy. The
state of Texas rules are that a Birth Cert.
becomes available in 50 years and a Death
Cert. in 25 years from the date of the event.
Many Texas County Clerks adhere to this law,
but some few use their own discretion.
