I looked at your message history to see if you had included any dates, or approximate dates, for John and Nancy and found the following post with all kinds of names in the family, it might help someone who has one of them in their family tree to make a connection with you. People who know to use the Search This Forum box, and for example type in a name like Suggs, your post will come up in the list. Always a good idea to include names, especially those less common ones. I left off your eddress, no need to put it out on the main page, up where it says author and your name is underlined, click on it and wait a few seconds, your eddress will come up. GenForum tries to protect us against spammers. Also, you can click and look at submitter's message history, see if they are still currently posting etc.

I took a look at the 1880 census for Cass Co, TX and I think you have two separate John A. Stewarts. I found the one married to Mary with some of the children you listed; he is only 29, too young to have been married previously in 1850. So you might want to make that clear. I thought you were listing the same man with first and second wives. If you had some dates for the two Johns, and maybe where they were born, that would also narrow down the search.

I am looking for information on the following families:
John A. Stewart m. Nancy Givins (circa 1850)
Children: William T. Stewart m. Susan Cathrine Harwood
Rufus M. Stewart m. Martha A. Powell
m. Nancy Jane Humphrey
Jane Holt Stewart m. Walter Abney Patrick
Mary Eliza Stewart m. James M. Moore
Susan (Sally) Stewart m. ? Patterson

John A. Stewart m. Mary Eliza Hearne (circa 1870)
Children: Sarah Frances Stewart m. J.C. Suggs
Emma Stewart m. S. R. Bell
William Alexander Stewart m. Melinda Brady
James Monroe Stewart m. Idella May Taylor
Richard Pinkney Stewart m. Nellie May Ray
Thomas Stewart
Charles A. Stewart

These families were in Cass county Texas between 1850 and 1920. If you would like to share info please contact me.

Have you visited the Cass Co, TX GenWeb site? I'd sure love to have some of those letters written by your ancestors in my family tree. How wonderful so many were saved and many include so much family information.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
