John Quincy ADAMS (1833 AL-1902 TX) son of Henry ADAMS (md 1830 St.Clair Co.,AL) & Susan HANEY (possible dau. of Isaac & Susan Terry HANEY of Jackson Co., ALA) who md 2nd James H. SEWELL.
John Quincy Adams married 1856 in Parker Co., Texas to Mary Ann SHEEN (1840 England-d.1925 TX, parents John SHEEN and Mary Ann DAVIES of Wales who died in Texas).
John Quincy Adams parents are Henry ADAMS and Susan HANEY (b.1814 SC-d. aft 1850 in LA or TX). They were married 15 Sep 1830 in St. Clair Co.,Alabama. The following deed proves that their children John Q. Adams, Martha Caroline Poole Toler, and William Adams were born in St. Clair Co.,Alabama.
23 Aug 1836, Deed Book A, pg. 391, St. Clair Co., Alabama Henry ADAMS of St. Clair County and State of Alabama for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to me in hand paid receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do this day bargain sell and release to Allen BOX of St. Clair County and State aforesaid the (North west fourth of the South East of quarter Section N 17 Township No. 15 in Range No. 5 East in the Tuscaloosa land District has been purchased by Lewis Watkins and by him conveyed to the sd. Henry ADAMS and also (the South East fourth of Section No. 17 Township No. 15 range No. 5 East) the said Tracts conveyed by Henry ADAMS to Allen BOX his heirs, ye and the said Adams do hereby bind my self my heirs ye against any person or persons whomsoever may lawfully claim the same or any past thereof in Testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal in presents of this 23rd August 1836.

The State of Alabama. Before me Joshua W. Hooper an acting St. Clair County Justice of the Peace in and for said County personally appeared Henry W. BOX being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he saw Henry ADAMS Sign Seal and deliver the within and bargaing deed of conveyance to Allen BOX in the day and date therin written and for the purposes therin contained and that himself together with Thomas R. ADAMS Subscribed there names as witnesses thereto in each others presence and in the presence of the said Henry ADAMS Sworn to and Subscribed before me Henry W. BOX this 3rd day of January 1838. Y. I believe there is a possible relationship between above Thomas Robert ADAMS and Henry ADAMS because Thomas R. Adams was the security at Henry and Susan Haney ADAMS marriage as well as a witness to the above deed. Thomas Robert ADAMS is reported to have been the only heir of Rev. War soldier George ADAMS (b.1752 Guilford Co., NC-d.1845 St.Clair Co., ALA) of Laurens District SC. Henry ADAMS was already dead he wouldn't have been considered to be an heir.
There are good indications that Susan Haney might be a daughter of Isaac HANEY (1771 VA-d.1839 Jackson Co., ALA, son of John & Elizabeth Foster Haney) and his wife Susanna Terry (dau. of George & Fanny Terry of Charlotte Co., VA). Allen Box in the above deed md 1836 St.Clair Co.,ALA to Parmelia Caroline Haney. After Allen Box's death in the Civil War, Parmelia C. Haney Box md Claborn Walton Evans (his 1st wife Mariah Susan Haney was also a daughter of Isaac & Susan Terry Haney) in Jackson Co., Alabama.
Also Rev. George T. Haney (b.1800 SC-d.aft 1870 Marshall Co., AL), a probable son of Isaac & Susan Terry Haney, is the only Haney in the 1830 St.Clair Co., Alabama census yet there were several Haney's that married at this time in St. Clair that I think were also siblings of Susan Haney.
Susan Haney ADAMS md 2nd James H. SEWELL abt. 1840 when their probable daughter Susan b. 1842 & son James H. SEWELL, Jr. (b.1846 Ark-d.1871 killed by indians in Kimble Co.,Texas, md Sarah Gossett, 2 children).
Susan & James H. SEWELL and children are in the 1850 Union Parish, Louisana Census (the only census I've found of them together) before they left for Parker Co., Texas by 1854. The census taker has them all named Sewell. But John Q. ADAMS, sister Martha Caroline Poole Toler, and brother William ADAMS are with the 2 Sewell children.
Is there anyone who is working on these lines? Any help would be appreciated.
