Hello! Has anyone ever come across this family of Wheelers who in 1900 were transfered to Rosebud, Texas. A town of little cottages with a rose bush in front of each house to this day, I think! Found a picture of Rev. JOHN WHEELER, orphan grandson of Judge Royall Tyler Wheeler and Emily Walker of Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was a Methodist Preacher and his wife, Julaney/Gelaney Elizabeth Lowry was from Dahlgren, HAMILTON, Illinois, a town of apx. 20,000 in 1900, 500 today! Greatgrandmother Julaney was a midwife and nurse to the town, the house is torn down and she was a HANKS cousin to President Abraham Lincoln. Have just learned the family of about 15 children were from Dallas County! We are also trying to find out where Grandmother Wheeler is buried, who died around 1930 and who was in the household according to the census of GEORGE LUDIE and daughter Katherine in the Houston Heights.
We are also searching for the Family Bible taken by a historical society c. 1964. Thank you.
