Combined information from TX Dth Idx and SSDI (Soc Sec Dth Idx):

Kelso, Carl Henry, b 3 Jun 1932; d 12 Oct 1996 Brown Co, TX; last residence Blanket, Brown Co, TX; SS card issued in IL. [SSDI shows death date 15 Oct 1996]

A copy of his death certificate should show the names of his parents. Accuracy only as good as the knowledge of the informant. On the other hand he filled out the application for his Soc Sec card and it should show the names of his parents, his residence at the time of the application and other data, too.

A copy of his obituary might include names of surviors, and if they lived out of the immediate area, town or state of residence is often included, too. A good way to pick up names of married daughters.

Using an online directory, there are four listings for people named Kelso in Blanket, TX. One of them might be able to help you with your research.
