Scott,
this is the 1860 census for Uriah and Caroline.

1860 Orange Co.Tx,fam 170/170,Pct.1,June 20.
Uriah Cooper 20,b.1839,LA.Laborer
Caroline 18,b.TX
married within the year.

I looked at the 1850 census for LA.and TX.
this census says the children were all born "India",the handwriting is awfully hard to read.

1850 Shelby Co.TX,Oct 16.
James Cooper 65,b.KY farmer.
Elizabeth 44,b.NC
Samuel 14,b.?India"?
URIAH 12,b.1838 ...
Jessie 11,b....
Thomas 8, b....
Harry 5,b. ...

Orange Co. and Shelby Co are both close to Louisana.
I didn't look for James and Elizabeth on the 1860 census.
But I will if you need me too.
alice
