There's an engagement announcement in the Dallas Morning News, September 15, 1918 which says:

Judge and Mrs. J. H. Dunavant announce the engagement of
their daughter, Cecil, to Leiutenant Aylett L. Everett of
Charlottsville, Va., the marriage to take place early in
October.
