Do any of the articles mention an Amos Fairchild or a Mr. Hunter? I don't Mr. Hunter's first name. Amos is my great great grandfather and I have conflicting stories on his death. One I heard is that he was hung around the Harper area for refusing to join the confederacy. The other is one dictated by great grandmother (Amos' daughter) to her daughter and she says that Amos was killed down near Eagle Pass while in the employ of Mr. Hunter, a government man. I look forward to hearing from you.
