I am researching the same Phillips line. The only info. I have is what I got off the censuses. Ulysses had a daughter named Isa Jewell b. 10 mar 1896. She was my sisters mother-in-law's grandmother. The family doesn't know what happened to her parents. It was said they got into some sort of accident and they died. Isa had an older sister named Vida and she took care of her and her other sister Harriet. I have the info. from 1850 census to 1900 excluding 1890 on Ben F.and Elizabeth. I also found the girls on the 1920 census in Texas (Vida was married and had 2 sons).
1850-Mobile, Alabama - Elam
1860 - Mobile, Alabama - Elam
1870 - Monroe, Alabama - Elam or Elum (One of them spelled his name wrong)
1880 - Brown, Texas - Benj
1900 - Duke, Greer, Oklahoma - Ben F.
1910 - I can't find anything
1920 - El Paso, Texas - Raymond McLean (lists Vida wife and Harriet sister-in-law).
I saw a query saying Ben F. and Elizabeth died in Pecos, Texas. The only thing I found was Balmorhea Cemetery Index
Civil War Veterans buried in Pecos, Reeves, Texas.
Phillips, Benjamin Franklin b. 1831 (could be him)
There is a book History of the Pioneer West vol. 1 that lists a Ben F. and Elizabeth. pg 149
and Luella Phillips is in Vol. 2 page 61.
I figured this is them because it lists the daughters name also.
I have other tidbits of info. Looking forward to hearing from you.
