Hi Pam.

I don't know anything about immigration records, unfortunately. My family appears to have landed in the US around the colonial times, so I never learned anything about more modern immigration records.

Bessie is definitely a nickname for Elizabeth. I've also seen Elizabeths listed as Betty, Betsy, Liz, Lizzie, Eliza, Elissa, Isabelle, Lissie, Bess, or Beth.

I think Nellie might have been a nickname for Helen. The ages of the two girls are about the same if you look at the censuses.
