Hi Claudia.

Building off what Joan found for you, I found Evaline living with Claudine in 1930, convincing me that Inez was most likely deceased.
1930 United States Federal Census > Texas > Jefferson > Beaumont > District 36 > Page 11B and 12 A
Dwelling 210/Family 230
Rents ($18/month)
Buford W F imster, head, white, 29, married, age 23 at first marriage, reads, writes, b Al, parents b GA, electrician
Claudine, wife, white, 23, married, age 16 at first marriage, reads, writes. b TX, father b TX< mother b OK
Agnes, daughter, white, 5, b GA
Evylin Hatcher, sister in law, white, 16, reads, writes, b TX
Gan?? England, roomer, male, white, 29, married (age 20 at first marriage), reads, writes, b LA, father b TN, mother b LA

You can probably try to find Inez's death certificate now, since you know she likely died between 1920 and 1927 (when her husband remarried). The Texas State Library does free lookups in the death indices: http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/arc/vitalfaq.html

The Jefferson County courthouse will likely also be able to help you.

Good luck!
Karen
