Here is the 1910 census that Joan was talking about:
1910 United States Federal Census > Oklahoma > Kiowa > Mountain view twp > District 178 > Page 15B

Rents Farm
John B Hill, head, white, 35, married (first marriage) for 16 years, he and parents b TX, farmer, reads, writes
Lizzie M, wife, white, 34, married (first marriage) for 16 years, bore 9 children, 8 surviving, she and parents b Tenn, reads, writes
Nettie Le, Daughter, white, 12, b TX, reads, writes, attends school
Flora, duahgter, white, 10, b TX reads, writes, attends school
Florene, daughter, white, 10, b TX reads, writes, attends school
Leon, son, white, 8, b OK, attends school
Dadamie, daughter, white, 6, b OK
Lloyd, son, white, 5, b Ok
Willie, son, white, 3, b Ok
Virgil, son, white, 5 months, b OK

I didn't see the family in the 1920 census.

Do you know when John Briggs Hill died? His death certificate should give the names of his parents.

You can also search the 1880 census to see if you can find him with his parents. This available free at or

Good luck!
