Would the Jim Crane you refer to be the same J.C.Crane who was shot in Junction Texas Feb.6, 1897? If so, he was caught...along with Jim and Jourd Nite, and some stolen horses and cattle. They put up a fight and J.C. Crand and Jourd Nite were killed, and Jim Nite was wounded. If this is the Jim Crane you are speaking of, I have a magazine article telling the story, as I am kin to the Nites. I would be happy to make you a copy . You may answer in this forum as I check it everyday.
