John Barnes, born 1813 in Pennsylvania.
John Barnes was in the Consular Service of the Republic of Texas along with Arthur Ikin,William Kennedy and Lockland M. Rate and was in the Consulate in London(England) in 1841.
Is there any record of his returning to Texas after the annexation to the U.S. in 1845? If he returned, did he serve the new state government in any way? Would appreciate any information on him, family, residence, etc.

Only mention we have is from the Handbook of Texas Online-Consular Service.

Thank you.
