Looking for an Edward Long B:1810 in possible Alabama.
He married an Alcy S. from TN and she may have previously been married to an Alfred that may have been Edwards brother.
Their children are listed as born in TN.
The family migrated to Texas in the mid 1840's and I find them in Sulphur Springs Hopkins Co. Texas 1850 census.
I believe that Edward died in 1858/59 as after that, Alcy is listed as Head of House in the 1860 Hunt Co. Texas census.

Merry Christmas to all and may your searches be fruitful.

Erny Long
