Thank you so much for your interest and response.

I had given up on Texas counties. They have a unifrom response, no birth records prior to 1903. Even the state archives claim that there is no single birth certificate issued before 1903.
And that just doesn't sound right.

Of course that isn't a marriage certificate, but I've run into so many roadblocks I assumed that was also the case.

I will give Kinney County a call on Monday. Some kind soul gave me the following details:

"Read your posting to the Kinney Co Roots List; from Marriages Rec Index for Kinney Co, TX, June 1891 to 1915, I found a Antonia Gonzales & Cleofas Figueroa listed on P # 67 of the Marriage Bk Vol 3. A Catarina Gonzales m Juan Martinez in same Index & Rec is in Vol # 3, p 62."

This is what I tried to verify and expand on with the local parish and the chancellery in San Antonio.

I had never even heard of the two gentlemen the sisters married until then.
