I had been doing genealogy research for a number of years and had found all the easy stuff. THEN I got a computer and went online. Talk about overwhelmed!! I have met so many "cousins." I thought I was the only one working all these years on my Rice line. The first post I answered was on the Rhea Co, TN GenWeb site. From that contact we now have over a dozen banded together who share back and forth as descendants of the children of Joseph Rice and Mary Miller (never get a Hezakiah or Mahitabel). They dig up new clues, and I follow up on the records in Salt Lake City when I go up each year. I share what I find and we are off and running again. I can't begin to tell you the clues people have shared that helped me find more on some of my other lines, and those researchers ended up gaining, too.

On the TX unknown county site a lady gave me Ruebin Yates as the father of my John Yates. From the Yates GenForum a lady had what I thought might be the brother of Rueben. That lady had the names of the counties in NC and KY, all I had were the names of the states. From her clues I tied together 8 of 9 siblings from an estate record of one of their siblings -- long story. The fun just keeps going on and on.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
