Looking For Anothr Midkiff in My Tree!!!

My great great grandmother was Emily Midkiff. Emily was the daughter of Isaac Preston Midkiff and Susannah Howell.

Isaac and Susannah had at least 5 children,

Candace (married Ellis Peter Bean in Tennessee: she died in TX and he died in Mexico)

Emily (married Samuel Turner in Nacogdoches Co., Texas She died in Trinity Co, TX )

Isaac Jesse (married Mary Ellen Jones in Cherokee Co., TX they died in Grimes Co., TX)

John M. Midkiff --- no information

Henry Midkiff --- this is the one we believe we have found as records in Orange County, Texas say he was the son of Susannah Howell Midkiff.

It is believed Henry married Eliza (unknown) and had a son named Carlton Midkiff. Carlton married Sarah Jane Donaho and had a daughter, Annie Elizabeth Midkiff. Annie married George Charles Casey in Madison Co., TX.

Either Carlton died in the Civil War or he and Sarah Jane divorced as Sarah Jane Donaho Midkiff married William Henry May in 1863 in Orange County. By 1864 she and William are in Madison County. They had at least 5 children and are shown on the 1870 and 1880 Madison Co census.

Sarah Jane Donaho was the daughter of Daniel Lewis Donaho.

What happened to Henry Midkiff and his wife Eliza? Was he in the Civil War? He was born 1807, was he too old? Appreciate any help on Henry Midkiff.

Betty
