A.C. shows his father was born TN, that would fit this J.W. I would say Mary is a second younger wife; Christopher son of J.W. is too old to be son of Mary. I would follow up on this family, see if you can find anyone working on them. And, I would check to see if J.W. fought during the Civil War. 1880 census Batesville, Panola Co, MS: J. W. TX Confederate Pension Idx: Cox, Nancy Ann, #5177, husband James W. Cox - Bell Co, TX I would send for her widow's pension application, see if it gives you any additional helpful information. With so many of your family in Bell Co, TX, I would be checking land, probate and court records for the county. Have you checked out the Bell Co, TX GenWeb site? I used their search feature, typed in Sturdevant, up comes about 40 items, the very first one I looked at is a headstone for Thomas Jefferson and Josephine A. Sturdevant. I didn't even bother looking at the rest, but you need to. If there's things like that on the site, someone else is working on the family, too. I would click and look at everything on that site, and post some queries, too. Happy Hunting (^_^) Notify Administrator about this message?
