Hi Joan:
You asked me if I knew the names of the children. I do and all eight girls lived in Ohio and/or West Virginia. I know all of that part of the family and was/and am very close with all of them and their children.
The family I am trying to locate is the Collier family from Texas. All I know about my great grandmother Laura Louise Collier is that she was FROM Texas and probably had at least one brother names Louis. She came by covered wagon to West Virginia (so the story goes) and met my great grandfather, William Calvin Woods. I know all the Woods girls and their families, they are my second cousins and we've all been close, but no-one knows the origins of Laura Louise Collier. And like I mentioned my mother is the only one left and is unable to remember anything else. I realize it would be helpful to know Laura Louise's parents names, but that is where I have been stymied. I don't know their names or what part of Texas we are talking about. All I know is the legend that she came here from Texas and that her mother was a full blooded Indian.
I appreciate your help but that is all I know.
Bev
