I was determined to find Barto on the 1880 census, finally I did. His hame had been indexed as Clay Barton. 167 Jasper L Clay family 168 Hansen family 169 Hansen family 170 183 Clay, Bartow 18, born Ga, farm labor parents born GA Tellitha, 18, wife, keeping house; all born Ga 171 184 Clay, Mary, 55;widow, all born Ga Pickney, 15, son 1870 Paulding Cty Ga; Dallas Dist 213 213 Willingham, David 31 Abner, 12 Talitha, 9 Sarah, 7 3 houses down is the family of Russell Clay. John H Clay is listed as father of Bartow on at least two family trees.
