Oh, I would appreciate anything your sister might find. All I know is the record says he was buried in Potter's Cemetery, and am assuming that is the same term I've heard as a potter's grave.I have no idea if a marker was ever placed.Funny thing I hadn't given it any deep thought until I saw the story regarding the devastation wrought on Galveston from the 1900 storm.Flooding of the Snake River in Idaho washed away a small part of the cemetery where my gr grd parents are buried.I've been to that cemetery and the family plot wasn't touched.
When James' wife, Elizabeth, died in Hamilton, his name and the month and year of his death was put on the same headstone.By that time apparently the family had forgotten the "day" of his death -- it was 10 Oct 1872.
I've been to Hamilton twice, bonded right away.People very friendly.A second cousin once removed still owns the land on which the Rice house stood. It burned down a number of years ago and all that remains today is the foundation and two chimneys.
Thank you and your sister for any help.(^_^)
