Corasena Oliphant 1917 Texas/South Carolina

I am trying to find information about my husband's grandmother whom he never knew. Our information is very sketchy. Her name was Corasena Oliphant Carter. She was married to LeRoy Eugene Carter around 1912, probably in South Carolina. She had two small sons when she may have left her husband and returned to Texas around 1917.

For years we were told that she died in SC but there does not seem to be a grave. My husband's uncle told us (about 20 years ago) that he had learned that she had returned to Texas after a domestic dispute. Her husband claimed her as dead. We were shocked at the story. He also said that he came out to Texas and met some of the family. He went on to say that she married the doctor who pronounced Pres. Kennedy to be dead.

The uncle is now dead and there are no other relatives in SC who have any information about Corasena. BTW, her last name is spelled Olipant in the family Bible. I think that was probably a misspelling.

We would really like to find out what happened to her and where she is buried. Also, we are told that she had other children.

If you have any information about her we would REALLY appreciate hearing from you!!!

Thanks for any help!
