Yes, I saw him in MO in 1870 and that is where he had sizable value of land. Sorry, in reading my response it could look like I meant he had that in Denton Co, TX. What I meant was if he owned a lot of land in 1870 (in MO) he probably bought land when he moved to Denton Co, TX and would have generated some nice records there -- hopefully.
