Hi Eddie, I checked your message history to see if you had posted more info on another forum. This is your only post and your eddress is "hidden." I'm hoping you're not a professional researcher looking for someone to just give you some help.

There must be a reason for his death to be in an English newspaper, was William born in England? Do you have any idea when he was born? I have access to some online censuses, but didn't see any Wm Knight born in Eng on 1860 census in TX.

Brenham is in Washington Co, TX. Here is a handy dandy site to find county for TX towns/cities:

Only one Knight family on the 1860 Washington Co, TX census it is Richard Knight with wife and several children, one child is named William, age 7.

There is a W. H. Knight, age 23, b GA in Smith Co, TX. Looks like he has a wife and some small children, last person listed in the household is a Wm. Knight 25, also born GA.
