James Markus Hayes b. 1881 d. 1948 Seminole OK

Am searching for any information on James Markus Hayes
b. November 7, 1881 d. March 10, 1948 in Seminole OK buried at Little Cemetery Seminole County Oklahoma.

The information I get from my aunt and from family legend is that James Markus Hayes was an American Indian (Cherokee?), a professional gambler and that he played the fiddle. I know he married Frances Rhodes. At one time they lived in Arlington, Tarrent County, Texas. That was where their daughter, Rosetta Elizabeth Hayes Foster (my grandmother) was born. After Frances Rhodes died he married Alta Dovie Rhodes (sister). I also know that they lived for a time in Wynnewood, Oklahoma where he ran a pool hall and Port Aransas, Texas where they lived when a hurricane hit and blew all of their possessions away.

I have hit a brick wall and have not been able to find any leads as to where he was born, parents or any other information on him.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
