Do you have any idea about when he might have been born? And, could he have lived, or worked, in Wyoming at one time?

From SSDI:

Hammond, Harold E., b 3 Dec 1909; d 2 Jan 1999; last residence Fort Worth, Tarrant Co, TX; SS card issued in Wyoming.

"Last residence" does not guarantee he died in that county. For example if he was visiting someone in Dallas and died while there, his death would be recorded in Dallas Co. But, with this full date of death, if you think he might be your man, you could look for an obituary for him. You never know what extra little tidbits of info will show up in obits. Obits are published where you live.
