Greek Immigrants settled in Texas: Malavazos, Malavansos, Malas, Malavases

I'm seeking anyone with a family connection to the surnames shown in this heading. The name was variously spelled but was originally Malavazos and who most probably came from the Lakonias Prefecture in the Peloponnesos Region either from the village of Karitsa or the surrounding villages/area.

My own grandfather, Constantinos Malavazos, changed his name to Gus Malavansos, after coming to America in 1893. He settled by 1900 in Texas, first in Corsicana, then in Galveston, and finally in Tyler. His brothers, Pete and Tom Malavansos, also lived in Texas at the time.

If you have any family connection to the above surnames or know someone who does, please contact me. I have had the same email address since January 1998, so I'm easy to find.

Blessings on all who search for their family roots.
