Elias J. Wingo married Mrs. Adaline Wardlow in Rusk County, Texas on 12/24/1868. Elias was born about 1810 in South Carolina. Elias, a widower, had fled Bartow County, Georgia with his youngest children when the Yankees came to burn his plantation during the Civil War.
Elias and Addie Wingo were in Denton County, Texas by 1870. They were enumerated in the 1870 Census in Pilot Point as follows:

Martha Jane Wingo (Mattie) married Joe B. Doyle, and they were my great-grandparents. They lived in Palo Pinto County, Texas.
Caroline Josephine Wingo (Josie) married Samuel Taylor Reding. They lived in Slidell, Wise County, Texas.
I have no information on Lyonell Wingo.
Addie was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, 10 miles east of Denton, with her son Al's family. Her headstone reads:

I have no information on Elias J. Wingo's death or burial.
