OLD TASCOS, TEXAS
Posted by: Arvin Kuykendall (ID *****4540) Date: June 24, 2004 at 07:51:06

I found a book of photographs of cowboys of the west. I think one of the photos is my grandfather. Lonzo Kuykendall, born Dec 1875, Mississippi, went to Oklahoma at age 14 with his father. Orphaned at age 15 he was already a cowhand, working, I believe, for the Caruthers family, both in Oklahoma and Texas. I do know that he spent lots of time in Bosque Co., and Young Co.,, Texas and was working on a ranch near Colorado City, Texas when my father was born, 1911. The photo I refer to shows some cowboys in a saloon, in riding garb, in OLD TASCOSA, TEXAS.
I am unable to find any information about that particular town. Does anyone have anything about Old Tascosa, Texas.??
