Hi Lisa, I have a suggestion, you might want to put some dates, or approximate dates, in your query. Something that will narrow down the search, as Goldberg is a fairly common surname.

Even if you don't know anything else, you probably know birth date and birth location of your grandfather. Was he the oldest or youngest in the family. Do you have any idea of an approximate year when they came from Russia?

It sounds like the family was somewhere other then Texas, do you know about when Max might have gone to Texas? The information will help to shape the family history, and what records might help you.
