I'm going to pass along a hint for your future use. See box that says Search This Forum? Type in Burris and you will find someone else working on the same line -- LaVerne Hiner. She didn't give much info so I had gone to her message history and found she posted this on the Coosa Co, AL forum:

***I am searching for Bright Skipper who married Nancy Peoples. One of their daughters was named Sarah Isabell Skipper and she married Valentine Burris in Tx.and one of their daughters was my Grandmother Effie Mae Burris who married George Ivie Renfro in Parker County Tx***

When I went looking for Burris on the 1870 census Parker Co, TX, I saw where the color of the name was different, meaning I had looked at that recently, so I checked your message history and you hadn't posted this on the TX forum before. Then I used the search box on this forum to see if someone had Burris and there was LaVerne. You two will want to share what you know about the Burris family. She knew Sarah's maiden name of Skipper. Maybe she'll know whether the Walter C. on the 1900 census is your Walter L. If so, you can pick up what I posted on Burris and Skipper to her post.

Happy Hunting (^_^)
