Kingsbury Cattle drovers 1876

Lafayette Howard applied for a pension after the civil war. In 1876 he was a cattle drover in Guadalupe county. Ed Howard and H. T. Lowry were witnesses to his application. If anyone has any information about Kingsbury or cattle drovers during that era I would like to learn more. It is possible that Lafayette's father, James Howard died there before 1880. Any help in locating him would be appreciated. I have the signatures of H.T. Lowry, Ed and Lafayette Howard and will copy to anyone interested. Thank you.
