I am also trying to find info on a Dr. William J. Harris and family that moved to Texas around that time period. They were in Ms. in 1880. How much do you know about your Dr. Harris? Mine was my gggrandmother's 2nd husband and they had five children which one of them was named John. He was borned after 1880, so I know that he would not be the one your looking for but it is possible that his father's middle intial stands for John. I'm just guessing at this point. Dr. William J. Harris would be about 52 yrs.old in 1892. Hope we can help each other with this puzzle.
