My Dad remembers the Peniel Orphan's Home. His Grandparents (James W & Sarah Benton) ran it for many years. James W Benton was a Doctor and had a house and a hospital/office/pharmacy next to the Orphanage. My Dad also remembers that when the orphanage closed there were a few kids that just stayed with his Grandparents. Names of some of the kids that stayed were: Gwen (last name unknown) who also had a sister Ruby who died of scarlet fever. Joe (died in the war) and Hiram McMurry and Charles Parnell.

I would be very interested in any information about the Peniel Home that is found.
