I am searching for ancestors of my maternal Grandparents, William Edward DORRIS and Mary Josephine (WHITE) DORRIS. Marriage and cemetery information is as recorded below. Note that “Will L” and “William Edward” are the same person, William Edward is believed to be correct.

I have no information on William Edwards life prior to marriage (above). He is variously rumored (folklore) to have come from Alabama, Arkansas, Texas or Tennessee. His mother (or grandmother) is said to have been Choctaw Indian. Said to have worked in Texas at some point – again, this is folklore only, no proof. Believed to have lived at some point in Winn and/or Jackson Parishes, possibly before marriage, as well as Ouachita.
Mary Josephine White had at least two sisters (Sara and Susie) – one married a “Milligan” – and one brother, “Drewery” White. All lived in Ouachita Parish, LA for some/all of their lives. All passed away long ago.
Children of William and Mary were:
DORRIS, Gladys R Aug 26, 1911 Jul 26, 1926
DORRIS, Johnnie Hector Dec 14, 1913 Aug 24, 1983
DORRIS, Tommy A Jun 2, 1908 Sep 23, 1925
DORRIS, Maggie Lee (HEBERT), Mar 2 1906 Mar 15, 1995
DORRIS, William Garrett Aug 22 1901 Aug 1979
DORRIS, Mable (HOLCOMB) Feb 20, 1916 Jul 21, 1960
DORRIS, Beatrice (BANKS) Mar 17 1901 Feb 17 1989
All the children have passed away.
Any information in furtherance of my search would be very much appreciated.
